I think it is meant to be a reference to 140 bpm but the music is not all 140bmp. I have a feeling once you have completed all the levels and the sountrack is fully constructed it will be 140 bpm

Look at the title screen. 1 looks like a square (standing position), 4 looks like a triangle (jumping) and 0 is a circle (moving). When you start the game the three numbers overlap making the character. It's the three shapes that you can transform while you're moving.
