Day One: Garry's Incident

Day One: Garry's Incident

So I just started to play... [FoV Problem: SOLVED]
And I did like the opening and the first few minutes of gameplay.

Unfortuntely I suffer from a problem I never ever encounter before: While exploreing the temple I got an annoying headache which forced me to stop playing.

I dont know what cause this, never experience it in any other game, and Im not sure if it is connetcted to the FOV. Im no expert at all.

Did someone experience the same issue or can speculate or elaborate on this?

*Another minor bug: seems like while going to options > controls, and after that, hitting "esc" to go back it just opening another "layer" of main menu forcing me to quit and launch the game again.

I've heard some other people say they were getting motion sickness. You may be experiencing something of a minor case. I believe that yeah, it has something to do with too wide a FOV. I can't say for sure though.

Too wide? i was thinking of too narrow fov actually. Yet Im not sure that it is the cause.

Maybe turning on\off some graphic options will help? like Motion Blur?

Motion blur helped me a bit when I had motion sickness in Mirror's Edge. You can try that. Else, unless I am mistaken, you should make a request for aa FOV slider to be added so that can be adjusted.

Disabling motion blur is good way to go in all games. Don't worry, your eyes already blur the things in motion, so with it enabled you're just doubling that effect and making it more stressful for your eyes.

Thank you both, it did minor difference though.

I feel silly that I didnt turned off motion blur first, because I always do that in games. I have similar opinion like you Choo.

Im starting to think that the case is the very narrow FoV it has. It is the first time that FoV gives me a headache.

You can change the FOV with the key 9 and 0.

Keep in mind that the FoV resets to default (90) upon every death/reload. So if you're like me who uses 120 (max), just remember to hit 9 six times quickly after spawning.

That should probably be fixed, Stephane.

Yeah, just noticed. Though I only need to press 0 twice (and its 0 not 9), 100 fov is ok for me. It is wierd though because I always play on default 90 fov in any game so i dont know why this game is different for me haha
