Day One: Garry's Incident

Day One: Garry's Incident

Same vein as Warz?
IS this game in the same situation as warz, by that i mean is it unpolished and buggy and the developers are incompetent and try to hide negative comments?

Exactly correct.

https://twitter.com/Totalbiscuit

They've been flagging negative reviews on Youtube with copyright claims. Abusing youtube.

Pretty much. The last thing we need is more greedy devs like these trying to censor reviews and comments that show the game for what it really is until it's too late for people who decide to buy it. Hopefully they can resolve this situation quickly.

Nah. You just didn't like the review.

Are you gonna go after every single negative review on youtube now? Shame you can't take down those 200 negative metacritic reviews down.

Those actions are just negative press for you, and your company, which is now blacklisted as DO NOT BUY GAMES FROM in my book.

Oh, I though TB was a professional reviewer not a charity, silly me. How dare he make money doing his job.

I think the Devs have made a massive mistake here because this publicity is blowing up quite quickly by the looks of it.

Then why did you send him a review code? You knew that he monetizes his videos. Just stop, there's not a single person who doesn't see exactly why you had that video taken down. I don't know why you're trying to make these excuses. Literally everyone sees right through them. Don't even try to spin this ♥♥♥♥. Also, don't solicit reviews then try to silence the reviewer when they criticize you. I mean, how stupid do you think everyone is? You must really be dolts if you think you're doing a good job in defusing this. Put yourself in the shoes of the public. Would you fall for these excuses? If the answer is yes then you must not be very smart. Your motives are entirely transparent. Don't think for a second that they're not. You only make things worse by treating people like they're dumb.

Let me get this straight: your opinion is that video game reviews that show images or video from the game are *illegal*?

You're a terrible dev and you will have no fans or future.

Question how does one know when a video is Monitized. I know TBs are cause thats how he makes a living. But there are a few Youtube lets plays with ads in them, I dont know how the youtube system works but I hear the ads Indicate a monitized video. if this is true thers a lot more videos to be taken down because a few others are making advertising money off yoru game. Not to mention even if this was halfway acceptible your an idiot for giving a review code to a person before understanding their methods. In your haste to get publicty you failed to understand how the person worked and now you either look foolish for giving him the code or dishonist for trying to delete negative reviews.

thats like handing a cheeseburger to a fat person and wondering why he ate it. You guys clearly knew who TB was when you handed him your game, don't try to play it off like you are the victims here. Your game is bad, and by taking down his video you've hurt what little respect you had. I'd be looking for a new job soon.

The ad revenue doesn't come from people mooning over your game footage and you well know it. People watch TB to hear his opinions, and footage is just a way to illustrate those opinions quickly. He could just as easily do his show on a whiteboard, or gawk at the camera for 30 minutes.

Footage in a game review is not a convenience for the reviewer, it is a courtesy to the viewer, and you are breaking faith with all of us by stirring unnecessary drama in what was a fair and productive arrangement that helps a lot of small developers make their living.

So, are you going to take down all reviews of your game on all sites that have ads (which is pretty much all of them)? You do know reviewers have to eat as well and they are PAID by doing reviews. You really should apologise to TotalBiscuit for doing such a shameful and most likely illegal thing.

I personally do not own your game but now I will not buy it even in a sale, simply because of what you did.

Good to know reviews, reviewers, and other critics shouldn't be expected to be paid for their WORK.
