Why is this trending? So many people playing?

No updates, nothing new, this game breaks concurrent player count record, just why? Because of some 50% off that has been in the past so many times? I just wonder why

because its an easy game with quick achievements thats possible to play between family & friends, basically kids spending their christmas money

i dont know but im pretty confident that the peaks & drops looks the same each christmas sale + post christmas active user drops

look, a sale usually means an increase in player count, but not as drastic as going from 5k to 30k, breaking player records, usually it's about 30-70% increase

I'm gonna guess its more players now cuz of Sons of The Forest trailer 2. May have brought new players into The Forest cuz its also 50% off.

Markiplier, Lord Minion, and Muyskerm started a series a few weeks ago, and I know it made me want to play it again. Could be the same for others.

The replayability is low once everything is learned. But it's fun to play with new players. Sooo game sells for cheap new players get it and friends who normally wouldn't ever play it again, play it.

Two main factors I know of are probably contributing to the sudden resurgence in notoriety...

the first is that relatively recently Markiplier, MuySkerm, and Lord Minion (Markiplier especially, but they are all fairly well known youtubers) have recently begun a video series in this game

The second is that the sequel to this game is expected sometime in this coming year, and trailers have been dropping for it as a result. Some are returning to this (or finding it for the first time) because of those trailers and the impending sequel.

this game has same player count as before winter sale, game is just realistic and players love that. Sons of the forest and any other things didnt effect the game player count. Game has 5k-30k players in game from the day when there aro no more updates. sry if my english was bad xD

There is also the current steam sales. Me and many of my friends picked up the game with the 50 percent discount.

don't lie, and check steamDB, the numbers before winter are totally different

I've got this before the sale, and I love every second of it. Then again I got it because the AI sounded interesting, also Markiplier has been playing it recently and now its on sale so most likely some Markiplier fans were interested in the game and got it on sale
