Unsure How To Use Walkie

I just got this game a bit ago to play the VR verision with a friend, but I've had to communicate using Discord voice chat because we can't figure out how to use it. What do I do?

In normal mode you press default Q to pull up the walkie talkie and from then on you just broadcast untill you put it away

It's basically just like push to talk with an animation. 😊

I understand using the Q key is how to use it on the normal desktop version, but I'm asking about the VR controls. I use the Oculus Rift and the Touch controllers.

Been through the patchnotes of vr patch 3 and they say you have to pick it from your inventory. Not sure how to unequip it though. Think you'll have to pick another item. But the mic seem to be always on as long as you hold it, so dunno if it's practicable at all. Then you could just use discord and have your hands free for other things like the lighter...
