Hello everyone,

Here is our official thread for discussing the new VR version of the game!

anyone familiar with Oculus VR can tell me how to reset the position. i play Elite Dangerous seated but with forest i have to stand.

this makes me float 2.20 above earth even if its not set up that high and reseting view in steam and oculus does nothing.

not only the height is the problem but also the white annoying ring is glowing 1.5 meters away from me.

also how do i unequip weapons / jump / sprint?

There isnt any way to recalibrate the position i believe, but you could try to enable/disable physical crouching for your height problem.

Unequip, press right grip button i believe, jumping was right touchpad "up" i think and sprint simply press the button in while walking (better option is to enable always sprint in the options).

so now way to disable the annoying white position circle?

the physical crouching is nto the height problem btw.

im set 1.80 in siting position (which doenst matter in ED because you can reset to eye leven any time) the game lets me fly 2m and when i stand up its me clipping to ceiling at 2.4~

all the canicals look at me as if im their god

You can try pushing the "oculus" button on touch controller, or another way to get access to oculus home while ingame, and click on reset view.

as said, neither oculus nor steam home reset button does anything.

i had to re-setup steam vr. it worked out nicely.
jump and unequip buttons are right analog stick up / down.

i got motion sick more than usual though.
quit it after i started building and like 25 of thoes bastards showed up.

Its really making the game a negative expirience. they just keep coming in larger numbers, nonstop.

im playing with a friend already and we manage together. but solo, you cant defend and do stuff at the same time and they just keep coming nonstop stronger and in larger numbers. Its annoying af and keeps me from even wanting to play.

How many days in are you to see that many cannies??
Whenever I see 6 in my camp that is a lot actually and I always play solo.
Game works very well for me seated btw

i played literally for maybe 25 minutes, went to the boat, then to the hill with the tree nearby.

started building a fence, didnt even cut down one tree and it was world war z all over the place.

in vr its easy to kill them, i got maybe 14 with the starter axe and they just kept coming and coming nonstop....

really bummed me out, because same thing happens to me and my friend on a 15 days save, but since theres two of us we manage to fend them off. alone its just.. frustrating

i know that if you kill and let bodies rot, or just simply go DOOMSLAYER on them all.
but it was literally a new save so i could try out vr, it took me mb 10 minutes to get around and find the boat.

ive put up a fence and it started to rain, ive made a campfire and BOOM, wave after wave after wave, just keep popping up.

ive burned about 14 bodies before i got motion sick and though, this isnt really much more fun.

as said, they can be handled, but if they come nonstop and dont let me drag wood or build around my base, theyre just a major nuisance :(

Number 1. If you tend to get motion sick consider turning on the blinders, eat ginger, get an acupressure bracelet, get an ems bracelet, do controlled timed exposure to vr everyday for a limited time. There are things you can do.

2. Search farket on YouTube and watch his tutorials.

How the hell do I run this game with Oculus VR + current Steam (anything)
Cant do nothing with the controllers in the main menu, and im definitely not running steam VR BETA :D

must be a great game, cant play....

Actually I would use steamvr beta and reconfigure the controls using steam input

Like you sprint in almost every other game, press the thumbstick in. ;)

But i would advise turning the "Always sprint" option on in the menu!!! Its way better.

Oh, read that wrong.

I dont know a fix for that (around 7 months ago the fix was to opt out of the SteamVR beta, but you already said you arent using the beta) a friend of mine got the same problem, but i on the other hand run it without any trouble and we both use the Rift.
