Does the game need upscaling? Not unless you have a 1060 or something. Or trying to run 12k resolutions or something zany.

This is a properly working X-ray engine ported to DX12 running the trilogy seamlessly, That's the big one and it's being overlooked like it's a new cosmetic skin.

Dunno what to say if you can't tell by playing that it is different under the hood :Shrug:

I agree. People were happy when the original games came out. And now they are crying like babies because the game turned out not like they dreamed.

1. Censorship. (Soviet era references removed)
2. AI upscaling, very low quality textures.
3. Where not upscaled, HUD lost depth and detail.
4. The new UI elements (mod loader, achievements menu) are horrendous.
5. LOTS of new bugs - broken icons, no manual save names, no grenade cooking. Not to mention most stuff reported over a year ago in (Console Bug Reports) is NOT fixed.
6. Sprint animations removed
7. Can't charge bolts as well ^

Have not tried the enhanced edition yet, will try out this evening.

I bought the OG trilogy for slightly under 10 euros way back so already got my money's worth.

There is a high chance that the enhanced game will get a few patches.

And modders might be able to restore removed "content".

Historical stuff likely got removed for political reasons.

That said, no manual saves or ability to cook grenades is a downgrade.

Nice to have achievements, wonder why they is none for completing the game on"master" difficulty.

Unfortunetly, this game is heavily politicized so you can not trust the reviews score......

It's ass dude, looks visually worse than the 2008 release. It's like a they found the leftovers of an abandoned Xbox 360 port and decided to release it as an "enhanced edition".

I own the original game and I got literally nothing. The Enhanced version just simply doesn't show up in my library and on the store page it says I have to buy it. A lot of people have the same problem I have with Shadow of Chernobyl. WTF is going on?
