- From the Wiki, "If you leave a regular Weapon Chest unopened, there's a 25% chance for a Large Weapon Chest to spawn on the next level. The chance adds up for every skipped Weapon Chest, so not opening 4 Weapon Chests in a row guarantees that the 5th one will be a Large Weapon Chest.
The spawn chance doesn't reset if you open a regular Weapon Chest after leaving one unopened. Skipping a Large Weapons Chest adds the same 25% chance as skipping a regular one. Only opening the Large Weapon Chest resets the spawn chance back to 0%." Take advantage of this and open Large Weapon Chests on the levels where your favorite weapons start appearing. Here's the drop table: http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/nuclear-throne/images/b/b0/Weapon_drops_table_v1.22.png/revision/latest?cb=20151216211706
- Familiarize yourself with the health of enemies (http://nuclear-throne.wikia.com/wiki/Enemies) and the amount of damage your weapons do (http://nuclear-throne.wikia.com/wiki/Weapons). It can help.
- Some enemies spawn more on certain tiles. This is kind of helpful early on to know.
- Similar to familiarizng yourself to the health of enemies and weapons, familiarize yourself to the exact mechanics of Mutations (http://nuclear-throne.wikia.com/wiki/Mutations). Helps when making choices and earning respect for mutations you used to look at and think "that doesn't sound that helpful".
- Personally, I always try to summon Horror for extra Rads and going to the Pizza Sewers for more rads and enemies. Reaching Level Ultra at or immediately after the Throne is helpful, especially when you're Y.V. since you can skip Throne II.
- Lil' Hunter stops moving in place when I.D.P.D. are appearing. Take advantage of this, and try to trigger it by hiding behind cover.
- If playing as Rogue, consider the Portal Strike a way to make cover. It's really helpful, honestly.
- On Loops, with a high powered melee weapon such as an Energy Sword, consider clearing a path through enemies if there is just a sea of them and try to find a safer spot. It's really helpful, and it's better than being cornered by two or four Big Bandits
- There are some mutations that are just meant for certain Crowns. Such as Stress and all Mutationss that can help in acquiring health with the Crown of Luck.
- Some character specific things, I believe you can proc Sharp Teeth as Rebel by right clicking, and Stress is also really amazing with Rebel.
- Mutation synthesis. Such as Boiling Veins, Strong Spirit, and Stress for the ability to take more hits while at low health and yet still be able to fire fast or Back Muscle, Lucky Shot, Rabbit Paw, Recycle Gland, Plutonium Hunger, and Throne Butt as Steroids with dual bullet weapons for essentially never running out of ammo while clearing whole rooms fast.
- Golden Wrench.
- Always keep melee as a secondary.
- Learn enemy attack patterns, and figure out how to dodge.
- Experiment with everything, weapons, mutations, crowns.
- Learn the inner mechanics of how everything works, how ammo drops work, mutation specifics, etc. This will help you make smarter choices.
- Have fun with the way you play. I push to play without melee as much as possible, because I find the guns in this game significantly more fun, and I still get to loop fairly consistantly.

Also it doesn't hurt to watch videos of good runs (if you don't mind spoilers).
- Know your enemies. The secret to playing in procedurally generated games is simply this, since once you become wise to the game's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, very little can keep you down throughout most of the game.
- Pick your mutations wisely. Some mutations synergize with certain setups better than others, so keep that in mind when you're picking up weapons and playing as certain characters.
- Additionally, choose your weapons wisely. I'll personally choose Assault Rifles over a lot of other mid-to-endgame weapons since you have better control over your ammo consumption than late-game bullet weapons and they fire fast enough to stunlock enemies.
- Try to grab a Golden Weapon. It doesn't really matter which, since you're guaranteed to start with something better than a pea shooter from the get-go regardless of what you choose.
- Don't be afraid to experiment. You might find a really effective build that you really like when you do, and it'll generally be more fun than listening to people on the forum tell you how to play. Will you die in the process? Absolutely, but it's not the end of the world if you do.

He explains ALOT of helpful stuff in that one, there's really tons of great info to be found here. Though I think he should give the video a bit of a different name to seperate it from the others since it really is mostly a tutorial/tips video.
