It's a very weird time in Hololive. Plenty of the JP old guard show no signs of slowing down, but since last August, it's been a train of graduations. Despite what others will say, I remain convinced that even if there's "management and direction issues" (whatever that means), Hololive is still on the up and up.
Not only is Hololive apparently built by talents who don't like being told what to do, and some of them have worked for black companies before and show no signs of leaving.
It sucks, but expect to see this pattern over and over for the forseable future, across all industries and niches. Become a cultural nomad and enjoy and remember the good times if you manage to find things before they get cannibalized, but be prepared to see the legacy ruined. Just hold onto the better memories.
Sana/Namie isn't streaming either, mainly due to her Arknights work (If she still works on the art there). I imagine it's gonna be the same with Mumei, she'll find a completely different job and occasionally post art on twitter
I disagree a bit, you joined at the transitional time where the old guard leaves and the new blood ramping up their presence in the company, which is natural. It's just they've been working there steadily for years atp and it was inevitable that they'll be leaving one by one.
The truly bad time to join Hololive would have been 2020 since that year was quite a disaster
It is entirely possible. Ame and Fauna had their fanbase follow them after all. And even Selen from Kurosanji had her fanbase follow her.
NO ONE can dispute the impact Gura had on the world. And where she goes, her fans will follow.
I wouldn't say its a bad time. I managed to catch a few streams with Advent and Justice and I'd say they're earning their place in the Pantheon. Raora bringing in the Italian, Nerissa getting sniped by her whole family, Elizabeth being a British Mimic Master... I admit Gigi's energy is a lot different from Gura, being far more gremlin, but... things change. The student becomes the master, and new generations fill the void left by the masters. That's life. All we can hope is that those who follow in the footsteps of the masters do so with respect. And so far I'd say Advent and Justice are doing pretty good. We'll have to see what the future holds.
senzawa is way cooler than gura ngl
she was funny especially her oki doki boomer song, thanks to that i use it irl daily for years now
She might pull a Nimi and get a new model/persona, but keep the old personality.
