I prefer Sana because her Ult pulls in all the Exp on the screen.
1) attack and defend, find a character that can do both relatively well, that means no blind side like one mentioned about calli that can't hit enemy that's too close, or a way to cover that blindside, and a way to survive boss onslaught, or kill them before they reach you, for example, invulnerability from fauna and Sana's ultimate, a burst from Ame's slow and atk speed, or bae's barrage, etc
2) a way to gain xp, as you won't move, you'll need a way to collect xp so you can still scale for late game, the obvious one is increasing pickup radius, other way is using character's gimmick like Ame's pet to collect xp, or Sana's ultimate for it's pull
Just my opinion though, I personally like fauna because she can heal herself and convert that heal to spike for attack, and her ultimate making her invulnerable can be used for panic button
I also did it with Matsuri; no revivals needed, but bosses take forever to beat.
