does something despawn them?

I think they stay for about a minute? Might be less. But yes, they despawn due to a timer, presumably to reduce clutter.

Definitely way more than a minute. Sometimes I leave the game open in background doing other stuff and I come back with a lot of fishes lying on the ground

Are you sure? I left the game for a few minutes to do something on the side, and even though I heard the girls fishing up a lot, when I came back there was nothing on the ground.

I think they stay for a good while, maybe even indefinitely, but it seems leaving the holohouse clears them out, just like it will reset your fishing streak (afaik).

I'm pretty certain after some undisclosed amount of them are on the ground the other holos start taking the fish (despawning). I'm fairly sure I saw it as a message while afking for fish one time.

If you want the other talents to do all the additional fishing, you must not be inside the HoloHouse, that way they stay and you can pick them all up after a long time of being afk or better yet, using an auto clicker to fish or something. And of course, don’t exit HoloHouse mode before picking them all up…
