How do I unlock the Shay Cormac costume?

It shows up in the list for 15k but when I go into my captains deck to change and buy outfits, nothing happens when I press A on Shay Cormacs costume. So are there necessary prerequisites I need to do? If so, what are they?

Please help! I want this cool ass costume.

Please help me!!! (Shay Cormac purchase issue)

So I spent all evening last night raiding ships for cargo and selling it to save up the 15,000 dollars for Shay Cormacs outfit, because it's bad ass looking.

Yet when I press A on it to buy it nothing happens. No message explaining. It doesn't even make a sound. But it's there when I try buying it on the ship. It's brown/yellow/whatever indicating I have enough money for it. Yet I can't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ buy it and it's really frustrating me because idk what I'm doing wrong and now I feel like I wasted all of my day off yesterday for absolutely nothing whatsoever.

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or how to go about ACTUALLY buying the outfit since the game doesn't want to let me?

Just a curious question but upon PC the what you're calling to be the 'Shay Cormac' costume is actually the "Templar Armour" that you obtaining from some somewhat long quests in order to obtain the Templar Keys that unlock it from it's cell inside the "The Great Inaqua" island (which will be your HQ's apart the "Jackdaw" brig vessel your get pretty much from the game's start).
So, upon the PC version of the game it never was to be sold at a Weapons Merchant, except for you to re-eqquip it only after having it unlocked.

Hello Antagonist thank you for your question, if you are referring to the Templar outfit that I similar to the one Shay Mcormac wears in AC Rogue, can you let us know if you were able to find it with the keys as Basan suggested?

If you internet search the terms Templar Armour, I was able to find a few video walkthroughs explaining how to get the templar keys.

The outfit I'm referring to is called Shay Cormac's Outfit. I can see it on my boat listed for 15,000R but when I press A on it nothing happens. I'm playing on Nintendo Switch, so I'm sorry if that led to any confusion. The game is a collection called Assassin's Creed: The Rebel Collection and contains Assassin's Creed Black Flag and Assassin's Creed Rogue.

No BasanTM, I am NOT referring to the templar outfit, although that's there too and I also can't unlock it even though I have the money. In fact, it won't let me buy the vast majority of the outfits it shows being available.

Ubi Milky, with this updated and clarified information, do you think you know what the issue might be? I'd also like to add, the fact that a developer took even 2 seconds to respond to my post when they could have easily ignored it like every other dev in the world would means a lot to me, and has officially put Ubisoft on my list as "one of the good guys".

Back to BasanTM it definitely says I can buy it for 15,000 and makes no mention of prerequisites. However other outfits do, saying things like "this item must be crafted".

I really hope this clears things up and leads to an answer, because I spent so long (for me, I don't get as much time to game as I'd like) saving the 15,000 to get it, so it's mildly frustrating. Doesn't make me like the game any less though.

Edit: It says "Available in shop". Does this mean I need to pay real money for the costume on the Nintendo store or something, or do I literally buy it from a shop in the game? I literally only just now noticed the "available in shop". So that helps, but now I just need to know what they mean by shop, and how to find it (ie: downloadable content or an in game shop). I assume it's an in game shop because other outfits it allowed me to purchase all say "redeem in Ubisoft club" (although I have ZERO recollection of having to do that).

I'm an idiot. All I had to do was buy it from the general store and now I'm allowed to equip it on my boat.

Hi UbiMark. Thanks for reaching out. Figured it out yesterday. Didn't realize I had to buy it from a shop in the game first. Thought I got it on my boat because it was listed there. But I've gotten it, thanks for being cool and trying to help though.
