Game crashes as soon as the intro cut scene reaches the ship with the Assassin on it
For some reason the game just crashes at this cut scene and I can't find a solution to fix it

Hey guys!

Sorry to hear the game is crashing for you!

May we please know your PCs specs (GPU, CPU, RAM, Laptop / Desktop)?

And if you haven't done so already, could you please give the steps[support.ubisoft.com] in our guide a try, including verifying the game's files[ubi.li].

Please let us know how you get on!

My specs is a desktop with an AMD RX5700xt and an Intel I7-8700K with 32GB Ram, I've also verified the game several times and even reinstalled it but that didn't work however I disabled full screen optimisations and ran the game as administrator, as well as using software such as Radeon and D3DOverrider to force triple buffering and lowered shadows to very high instead of soft shadows which doesn't run well and managed to make the game not crash anymore.

Thank you Rez! I also have AMD RX5700xt so your fix will help me too.

Hi Rez, The Muffin Queen,

Thank you for posting to let us know what steps you've taken to help with the crashing in the first cutscene. Sorry to hear that this still doesn't run very well.

Other players on the steam forums have noted that turning off {LINK REMOVED} has helped with similar crashes, so it may be worth testing.

Many thanks.

Check your in-game options to see if you're using Softshadows... if so, go for the regular shadow settings (Low to Very High). Let me know if it works, it did for me.

Found myself having the same exact issue and thought I'd share my findings :)
Hope I didn't steal your thunder in the process 😅
