Major Sound Stuttering
Was there an update on Ubisof's end? If there was my game was broken by that update. I took a week break from this game and I never had a problem with the series. Yesterday I boot it up and it crashes on open attempting to get to main menu. I had to run the game in Windows 95 compatibility mode but now when I'm in game and not in menus my sound is choppy and my frames stuttering. The sound is so bad that it makes it unplayable. My system is not weak by any means so I know its not a me thing but an Ubisoft thing.

CPU AMD 3900x
GPU RTX 2080 TI
Ram 32GB

This is what fixed my issue....

"Ok now I fixed all hurdles with a simpler solution. And just rebooted my PC and tried it again to confirm its success. I had to go into compatibility settings and check the "Run this program as administrator" I don't need to turn on Windows 95 or nothing like that and the game launches from Steam without having to manually boot Ubisoft Connect first. Thank you for reaching out and I hope this helps everyone moving forward."

Hey there knection,

Sorry to hear you're having issues.

Other than compatibility mode, is there any other troubleshooting you've attempted?

If you haven't done already, I would advise verifying the game's files[ubi.li] as this should rectify any potential issues caused when the game was updated.

Feel free to let us know if you still continue to have issues

Thank you!

Hello. Thanks for responding. I have been going back and forth with Ubisoft support via email and neither their nor your suggestion fixed my issue. I'm honestly scratching my head at this point because my game has been broken and I can't complete it nor start a new one. I'm half tempted to just install this on my really old laptop that's never touched this game just to finish it and get my money's worth.

Ok I finally fixed this issue. What I originally suspected was the issue had to do with Ubisoft Connect. For some reason Steam doesn't tell Ubisoft Connect to launch on my PC and I was failing to launch the game. I looked up that I had to switch the game to Windows 95 compatibility but that change was causing my performance weirdness. What I have to do to get this game to perform properly is to launch Ubisoft Connect first boot up the game in Steam while having Windows 95 enabled because it will not work for me doing it from Ubisoft Connect and then exit. After that I turn the compatibility back off and then relaunch again and now I can play with no issues....

Edit: Ok now I fixed all hurdles with a simpler solution. And just rebooted my PC and tried it again to confirm its success. I had to go into compatibility settings and check the "Run this program as administrator" I don't need to turn on Windows 95 or nothing like that and the game launches from Steam without having to manually boot Ubisoft Connect first. Thank you for reaching out and I hope this helps everyone moving forward.
