Lack of weapons

My biggest annoyance towards this game is the lack of weapons choices. I know about the blue dart, the rope but what about the two-handed weapon? Maces? Knives?

Bit suprised none of the reviewers brought up the fact that your stuck to swords and guns. I liked wiedling my two-handed sword.

Plus, they got rid of so many sword combat moves from AC3. Why..? Why not just carry it over?
The dual swords combat moves are really dull, boring and redundant.

Oh sure, you can pick up a sword from one of the guards and use it as a single weapon. But the combat moves are still really... uh.. let's just say it's a little boring.

I felt that took a few steps back when it comes to combat.

I don't get why you can't buy throwing knives. Also more weapon choices would have been nice too.

I also dont get it. AC 4 is great. But i think the main combat is lacking and is overshadowed because of the ship combat that makes this game great. But even pirates used boarding axes.

Also the combat animation is the worst in the series. Even AC 3 had better combat moves and animations.

Jeez thats why ik liked AC Revelations. It never gets bored. (slow motion animations), throwing spears and axes, daggers etc.

I wouldn't say AC4 has the worst combat of the series by any means. Sometimes it's pretty epic in it's own right. Just have to remember that they all have their own fighting style. And you can fight with more than the weapons than edward can carry. Want to fight with an axe just pick one up.

The answer is simple, pirates didn't use axes, lances, maces or the likes. Having them in the game would be out of place.

And this is a video game, doesn't have to be perfectly historically acurite. Look at AC3 they sure broke it there with Connor being the reason everything happens.

yea i do agree in bending history since um AC2 did it rideculously well I mean for fawksake the Pope was the main band guy grandmaster of the templars and in brotherhood his son Caesare

There I agree AC2 was excellent. AC3, just wow.

And its not like I'm saying change what historically happened. Just give me IDK a giant axe like the thugs have. They can be inventive, they were just to lazy to be.

And axes yes that should be fine - the guards have them.

And your saying wielding two axes would be bad? Don't make up excuses for a lazy company.
