Problem with Spanish Plague Naval Contract
So I took this mission and I have been sailing around the fort I got it and all the way down to Tortuga for an hour trying to find these Spanish gunboats. You only need 3 and I have only found 1 so far. I am finding tons of British gunboats but those obviously dont count. And the few other Spanish ships I have found are schooners or higher.

Can anyone point out a place where the Spanish gunboats are common? It's very annoying because I cannot fast travel while this contract is in progress.

I found them all right at the fort, took maybe a few minutes to complete the contract.

Not me, I finally found some more East of the location. But it was probably at least ten or fifteen minutes between the last two. And it was probably an hour and a half between accepting the contract and getting the second ship... I read online that the game is supposed to put more in the area when you start it but for some people it doesnt.

What I've found is that a lot of spanish boats linger around on the other side of the map at Havana - at least that's where I went because I couldn't find any gunboats close to the mission fort either. Took some 5 minutes to sail there but once I arrived I found plenty of low level ships including gunboats.

I went to the nearest island, told me it would end mission if I entered, so i turned back, and tons of gunboats spawned, try that

Two years later... rest assured, I got it done.

i found that any 3 Spanish gun boats work, I dont think you need specific ones like most quests. As far as being common, there usally close to the quest start, but weaker ships like guns boats, if their not part of a fleet(or guarding a harbor, good spot to find them) that weaker ships like that are found further north, the south ships of course tend to be bigger and stronger, and a lot more English ships as well.
