Turn off cloud saves in uplay. That should help according to RockPaperShotgun.

I MIGHT be able to help:

You need to find the save game folder for the game which is likely to be here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\whateversetofrandomcodesyouhave \437

If you have the correct location you should find files like:
1.save
1.save.metadata

and so on.

In my case I found some suspicious files:
2.save.DELETED
2.save.metadata.DELETED

I backed up the whole folder to my desktop as is and then removed the "DELETED" part of the filenames (from the original folder).

I then ran the game back up and 10hrs of game re-appeared!"

Good luck!

does the addrees have to have (x86) on it? I tried copying until ...\savegames but it is not a proper address. So I did the search without (x86) and i did find the ubisoft folder but there is no 437 folder nor any save.Deleted files.

You could you know backup your computer and just backup the file whenever it deletes your saves.

you can also use this to un-delete a save, i accidental deleted a save (sad i know), but i deleted the "save.deleted" ones and then launched the game, didn't work so then i went back into the file and there was a "save", and "save.deleted" and the deleted one was bigger so i deleted "save" and renamed "save.deleted" to just "save".

This also happened to me but when I look at the files it doesn't show up as .DELETED. It just makes a new save while my old one just sits there not being read. I tried to rename it but it just gets overwritten. I hope I didn't lose my save file (put in 35+ hours on top of 40 hours on the PS4).

elucia7: Everyone is being helpful, but the actual answer to your problem, the one where your save reverted to the old one and all your progress disappeared (happened to me 2-3 times before I realized it was an epidemic), is exactly the problem that mak[PL] said above: That s***ty "UPLAY" service is trying to save your games to the cloud after you exit. If it can't for some reason, it just blows them away because it's a s***ty service.

Click the gear icon from the top of the UPlay login screen, and DESELECT "Enable Cloud Save Synchronization for supported games", and the issue will go away.

Hopefully you can get your 52% save back from the methods above that others suggested, but MAKE SURE to turn off that cloud sync thing. That's what caused it in the first place.

I just went on with my life and continued where the last save was. I did turn off cloudsave as you guys have mentioned and I haven't had issues since. It was devastating, but blackflag really was too good to stay away from for too long.

The "x86" is for 32bit programs to go into. If you are running a 32bit version of Windows, you won't see the x86. If you are running the 64bit version, you will have two program files folders. the x86 is for 32bit and the one without anything is for 64bit programs.

F### I updated the game earlier and now my savegame is gone. Totally. There goes 72 hours of playing. I just completed sequence 10 (not counting all the achievements). Of course I have no backup...didn`t have problems until now.

Please, does anybody have a backup from sequence 10 or so? I don`t want to play everything, again.
