How to cap FPS
Is there a way I can cap the FPS this game runs at? Before think I'm trolling this is a serious question. I really do not want to play the game without V sync on as the screen tearing is very distracting for me and I'm happy to play the game at 30 FPS as it looks beautiful.

My problems comes when the game occasionally jumps up to 60 FPS, the change in FPS is jarring. I'd much rather play a consistently smooth 30 FPS which never changes rather than an irratic high frame rate.

So, are there any console commands or lines I can add the the .exe file to put a cap on my FPS?

i think you can change the setting in a .ini file but i'm not at home to check where that file would be.

Never thought to check the ini files, I'll have a look for any obvious entries now, thanks for the tip!

Evga precision and MSI afterburner comes with Rivatuner and you can put a cap easely with rivatuner.

Open the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Go to Manage 3D settings

Select ac4bfsp.exe from the dropdown list or add it manually

Turn Triple buffering On

Turn Vertical sync On

triple buffering from the cp is only for opengl games.

Yes triple buffering in the NCP only applies to openGL games which are rare these days.

To the OP, there are numerous ways to cap your FPS; via MSI Afterburner, Evga Pricision DXTory etc... If you are using nVidia then I'll suggest downloading the nVidia Inspector tool, which is very handly and gives you alot of driver control.

why wud u wanna cap it,when i try that it tears like mad capped at 30 with or without vsync, triple buffering does not work in this game,u can force it by using a program called D3DOVERRIDER all it does is force vsync and triple buffering, have it force triple buffering and use in game vsync,60 fps never goes below 50s and vsync on no screen tear

I'll give those programs a try Decimus, thanks for the advice!

Gaza, with Vsync on and a consistent 30 FPS I get zero FPS and it is a relatively smooth experience as long as the frame rate is not erratic. I may give the D2DOVERRIDER program a go also.

Still, I personally believe a stable 30 FPS appears to be smoother than an erratic 50 fps

If you have nvidia you can force "adaptive vsync half" so it will run at 30fps you do this by turning off vsync ingame go to nvidia control pannel add AC4 to program list and you will see options for vsync and "adaptive vsync half" will be a choice. No need to use 3rd party programs to cap fps to 30.

I see alot of people talking about 30fps, Im guessing thats happeneing with single cards alot. Because I am running 2 EVGA 760 GTX Superclocked and im at a constant 60fps.
