Massive spoilers incoming, obviously.

In the present day storyline, John from the IT department was a Sage, like Batholomew Roberts who Edward met in the past. The Sages are reincarnations of Juno's husband, Aita. John's plan in the present day was to have Juno posess your body, but she wasn't strong enough to do it. After John's death, you are contacted by Rebecca and Shaun. It appears that you're going to transfer data from Abstergo to them in the future in order to help the Assassins.

In Edward's story, the letter he read in the Observatory handed to him by Ah Tabai after killing Torres told him that his wife, Caroline, was dead. But he had a daughter named Jennifer that he didn't know about until then. In the epilogue sequence, Edward says his goodbyes to Anne Bonny and Ah Tabai, and gave the Assassins his hideout to use as a base of operations in the future. Edward then met his daughter for the first time at the dock, and they sailed back home to England together.

the first part is wat i understood, edward's story is just so weird at the end, especially that last mission, it was just dull. they should have gone further with it, as edward's story ends suddenly and it just sucks, but thanks man, what did you think of the story?

I definitely enjoyed it, even though the Assassins and Templars weren't really the focus until the very end. I was surprised that it took Edward until basically the end of the game to actually become an Assassin officially, but I think it may have actually been better that way. The way I look at it, it took most of Edward's friends dying (specifically Mary Read) for him to finally start doing something constructive for a greater cause, and I found it satisfying to see him come around and stop focusing on personal gain after all those years.

When it comes to the ending, I think the final mission in the Observatory with Torres and the present day scene in the vault with John was much better than ACIII's ending. It felt like it actually had a good buildup and climax to it. When it comes to the very end, with Edward meeting Jenny and then the final scene during the credits, I liked that a lot. It actually felt like a satisfying, happy ending for once in the series. Of course, we know that doesn't last. The Kenway family's story from Edward to Connor is a very tragic one, but I thought it was satisfying to see Edward attain some happiness and contentment after everything he went through in his life, even if it doesn't turn out so well in the end.

The theater scene was a reference to ACIII. I don't know if you played it or not, but if you didn't, it begins with Edward's son, Haytham, in the same opera house many years later. He makes a comment that his father took him there as a child.

i think the story was poorly executed, especially with blackbeard, awesome character but... how many missions have you played with him?, he left the story on 1/3 of it and when he comes back (where i was hoping for) he ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dies! wtf is that supposed to be, he was the best character of the story line, and the shemale (forgot his/her) name, is it a boy or a girl? still hav'nt really figured it out. also, there is such a big world and ubisoft just doesn't use it. and the thing that made me really angry: i got the special edition with the exclusive content, which i am said about that i bought it ; gives two swords which are absolutely horrible, the costumes are pretty ugly, nice design, but not for edward, and the maps where you can get this stuff are two generic islands with a chest to grab that stuff, do you remember the assassin's creed 3 exclusice content? it was a frikking mayan ruin, this is just an island and nothing special about it at all.

the content of this game is amazing but ubisoft could have made this soooo much better just by making it more mysterious and attach it to the story line!

Sorry you didn't like the storyline much, but Blackbeard wasn't the focus of this game, it was a tale of carribean privateers/pirates and the freedom of choice they sought (at the cost of everyone elses imo). Blackbeard in that respect is merely one of many.

have you seen the trailers? more screentime for blackbeard, also have you played the previous assassin's creed games? i am missing this vibe of undiscovered things and very old stuff. and most important of all, the detail in terms of little things. well whatever let's hope there will be many dlc's as i finished the game in two games and i want more

I loved this game for the poirate stuff but hated it for the terrible story (you know, the part where this game could not have existed and it wouldn't make a difference to the story line)

I loved the ending, especially the theater scene. I ♥♥♥♥ you not, I gasped when I found out the little boy there was Haytham. He was cute, too. Such a shame he grows up to be a douche.

aside from the pirate theme in this game(which is why ive 100% it on 2 console versions -.-),i will admit my 2nd biggest love of this game is that it rarely interupts the main game with the stupid ending sequence BS and that you dont really spend a whole lot of time outside of the main game unlike all the other AC games before this one.really this entire franchise could do without the modern day crap and flip flopping between past/present.it getts annoying and broke the emersion for me in the past AC games lol.

the only thing about the ending that i didn't like was that is was so sudden when things had only started to get interesting. Its an assassins creed game with hardly anything to do with assassins
