In the present day storyline, John from the IT department was a Sage, like Batholomew Roberts who Edward met in the past. The Sages are reincarnations of Juno's husband, Aita. John's plan in the present day was to have Juno posess your body, but she wasn't strong enough to do it. After John's death, you are contacted by Rebecca and Shaun. It appears that you're going to transfer data from Abstergo to them in the future in order to help the Assassins.
In Edward's story, the letter he read in the Observatory handed to him by Ah Tabai after killing Torres told him that his wife, Caroline, was dead. But he had a daughter named Jennifer that he didn't know about until then. In the epilogue sequence, Edward says his goodbyes to Anne Bonny and Ah Tabai, and gave the Assassins his hideout to use as a base of operations in the future. Edward then met his daughter for the first time at the dock, and they sailed back home to England together.
the first part is wat i understood, edward's story is just so weird at the end, especially that last mission, it was just dull. they should have gone further with it, as edward's story ends suddenly and it just sucks, but thanks man, what did you think of the story?
When it comes to the ending, I think the final mission in the Observatory with Torres and the present day scene in the vault with John was much better than ACIII's ending. It felt like it actually had a good buildup and climax to it. When it comes to the very end, with Edward meeting Jenny and then the final scene during the credits, I liked that a lot. It actually felt like a satisfying, happy ending for once in the series. Of course, we know that doesn't last. The Kenway family's story from Edward to Connor is a very tragic one, but I thought it was satisfying to see Edward attain some happiness and contentment after everything he went through in his life, even if it doesn't turn out so well in the end.
the content of this game is amazing but ubisoft could have made this soooo much better just by making it more mysterious and attach it to the story line!
Sorry you didn't like the storyline much, but Blackbeard wasn't the focus of this game, it was a tale of carribean privateers/pirates and the freedom of choice they sought (at the cost of everyone elses imo). Blackbeard in that respect is merely one of many.
the only thing about the ending that i didn't like was that is was so sudden when things had only started to get interesting. Its an assassins creed game with hardly anything to do with assassins
