Where did the Legendary Ship go?

I took a fort down and it showed one on the map, I marked it but when I went there it was nowhere to be found?

Can you not get those until later in the game, despite finding them? I just started Nassu.

I think just read that they can be found in the corners of the map. I would NOT recommend to find them before you have a fully upgraded ship though, apparently those ships are incredibly hard to take down.

I came across one at night during a storm, though I'm not sure if the weather and time on this game is random or by region as it doesn't seem a regular cycle.

It was level 70 and filled my entire screen though at 400m so I quickly turned and ran, that thing looked badass!

Quick version, yes you can fin them early, but I hope not to find another for a while!

They get unlocked at a later point, i also wondered and scouted all over only to not find them.

Just check your map inbetween memory sequences, they should pop up at some point.

And do not even attempt to attack them with a half upgraded ship like i did, i tried fighting a ship that is rush ramming you, and its much faster than you and it one shot my second to best hulled ship.

don't even think about it.... you need a full Elite upgraded ship before even attempting to sink two Boss Man-o-wars on crack cocaine.

Don't worry about that. I met 2 of the legendary ships so far and both of them just squash my poor little 2/3 upgraded Jackdaw. Got 2 shot by the ghost legendary. Getting wrecked by the black and white twins legendaries... I don't even what to think about what the other looks like.

I was told you pretty much need ELITE everything to win and it's still a challenge, even then.

Here's a story. I unlocked the location of the top right ship. I knew how hard it is to fight them so I left it there. Went to a shark hunt and the ship just left the map.
