Then you should be able to get them easy.
The trick is to already be on a roof when you approach them. As soon as you get close, they start to flutter away, and if you have to climb to get up there, you're probably too late already.
Also, they always take the same "route", so if you keep missing it, you'll eventually figure out where it goes (and you can somtimes take a shortcut).
I'm lovin' the shanties, btw!

But, when you catch them, it's feels so rewarding. I go on my ship JUST to here the shanties sometimes! And the ocean and sky look so nice...ahh...
