When I first got Black Flag I was able to play for an hour or so until I got the error everyone else is getting. Now when I start Black Flag 9/10 it crashes before I even start a game. Even if I get into the game it crashes within 20 secs or so.
I've just tried to load up some older games that i've previously played with no problems and i'm having the same issues with them as well. Batman, Far cry 3 etc. Anyone else seeing this?
so I got
LoadedModule[0]=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag\AC4BFSP.exe
State[0].Key=Transport.DoneStage1
State[0].Value=1
FriendlyEventName=Stopped working
ConsentKey=APPCRASH
AppName=AC4BFSP.exe
AppPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag\AC4BFSP.exe
which means that there is a problem with the exe right? anyone got some recomendations to fix that?
This appears to be the top section of the file, which will always state the exe name. At the very bottom of the list of lines which read:
LoadedModule[105]=C:\Windows\system32\dsound.dll
What is the very last one to load?
I had assumed your issue stemmed from an API issue related to ntdll.dll, but now I can see it is from StackHash_56f5...
The StackHash error occurs when DEP is invoked and has an issue with whatever application you’re trying to run (and there are several hundred out there that seem to give it fits). The error is related to Data Execution Prevention.
(Quote borrowed from microsoft)
You may try:
1.Open the Start menu and click Control Panel
2.Browse to System Maintenance then System
3.In the left panel, select Advanced System Settings from the available links
4.You should now see the System Properties Window, which will have three sections. The top section is labeled Performance and has a Settings button. Click this button.
5.Select the Data Execution Prevention tab.
6.Select the option which reads Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
7.Use the Browse button to locate the AC4 executable file
8.Add it to your exceptions list.
Click Apply or OK to commit your changes.
Like this (only if you want), cuz i want to hear Ubisoft's resolution.
If they ignoring us on Steam or uPlay, they can't ignore us on FB.
I did reinstall my Nvidia driver and included the 3D Vision, HD Audio, pretty much the whole package. In the past I'd only been installing the driver and Physx. It still didn't make a difference. Same crash. All the other games I play regularly still work just great.
