If I buy it from GMG, can I use the license on Steam?

I got a 25% discount code for AC IV on Green Man Gaming and I'd like to buy it there 'cause it's cheaper. However, I'd like to know if I can use that key on Steam or not. Is it possible?

No it will not activate on steam because, the GMG AC4 page does not have "Third party DRM: Steam:This game requires a free Steam account to play." on it.

Ask at the Forums to be sure, But Cya Nerd is correct, if its a steam key it will say so on the store page.

The only place I know for sure you can get a Steam Key is Steam (being an Ubisoft game). Although Amazon has steam keys listed as options.

Direct from SteamStore is the only place you'll find a Steam version of this game. Everywhere else is uPlay keys.
Though you can add the .exe for Black Flag to your non-Steam game library if you really wanted to have it in your Steam library

Amazon is giving an option to buy it as a Steam key but that is the only other place outside of Steam I know of that you can buy the Steam version.

I stand corrected. I'm surprised Amazon is selling a Steam key, last I knew they only had uPlay. Did they start offering it recently?

i dont mind uplay if that sale would of came sooner i would of got it at gmg dont care if it is on steam or not but they was 2 slow :P

Green Man Gaming always sells the cheaper platform. Given this is an Ubisoft game, it'll be Uplay.
