It's not up to Steam to decide when the game gets released. As Ubisoft is the publisher, it's their decision as to when the game gets released.

And funny thing is... publisher's hold off the PC version because of the piracy issue on PC... yet the Pirated version gets released vbefore the official version in many cases (obviously not all). And if these cracked version's have issue's.. this gets splashed around and end result is - PC sales are hurt because of problems on a pirated version, which might or might not be in the actual official release.

As for when the cracked version was leaked? Not sure, but it was sometime this week.

Sadly the pirate's are all over the Ubisoft forums asking for technical help with problems and issue's they are having... and all claiming they got legit CD'Key's from a "friend" who lives in HK, as apparently there is this 1 store in HK which is breaking street date... *rolls eyes*

That's called pre-loading.

people still do not understand pre-loading :|

I think the correct word here would be leaked.

But on both, PC and consoles, you pay for the games if you want to. If you don't want to pay, get an illegal version somewhere. The only problem, is that someone that had access to the game prior to its release leaked it to those cracking groups...

I'll simply wait 5 days and play my legit version.

Usually PC releases are postponed so that anyone who has a console and a PC both will get the console version, paying from 50 to 300% more for it. PC gamers usually won't want to pay that much...

Its funny because people thought GTA5 had been leaked for PC and got 18GB worth of viruses. This can happen here too. If people get infected because they pirated a game or tried to, they deserve it.

Regardless, I bet Uplay's idea of a pre-load doesn't involve decent security, that service is so full of holes it makes swiss cheese blush. Just look at Far Cry Blood Dragon, the game wasn't even officially announced yet and PC gamers were already playing it because someone easily nabbed it off Uplay.

All in all, just be sure to support the PC release. Ubisoft hates PC gamers enough as is.

they should just make the release day earlier to make it fair for the people who acually paid for this

I don't know where you have been buying your games from, but 99% of the games I buy are the exact same price as the console game. One of the reasons that they postpone PC releases is because they know 100% that the game will be cracked the day it is released, and they want to get as much profit as they can from sales. The other reason is that they have to either add things or change the game around to accomodate the PC platform. Regardless of what most people think, not all games have keyboard and mouse settings built-in.

Personally, and Assassins Creed IV is a perfect example, when there is a choice to have it on PC or console, I *always* pick PC. The graphics are better, the customization is better, there are usually less bugs, and you often have mod support. Skyrim is a perfect example... that game is a completely different beast on a PC than it is on a any console.

As an addition to my above post, you do know that you are basically saying that a typical PC game that is $60 is then $90 - $240 on console's, right?
