Controller support?

The store page for AC4 doesn't say anything about controller support. Does anybody know if it does or does not have support from experience? I'm planning to buy this game and I was just curious if it has partial, full, or no controller support at all.

Im using the wirless xbox controller, just make sure you turn it on before starting the game, sometimes it doesnt pick it up if you turn it on while at the menu screen.

Actually the game, as most of its predecessors, are most enjoyable using a gamepad. Using PS3 controller with xbox emulation works flawlessly. Together with steam big picture mode a great experience.

I personally can not get my controller to work in multiplayer for some reason, however, singleplayer with both liberation and freedom cry it works perfectly fine.

So i buy the game again, i have my xbox controller pluged in and it just wont work.... Ani tips and tricks?

Xbox one wired controller works but is extremely janky and still get keyboard commands in game. No official controller support in game. Which makes no sense when AC III has controller support.

Wireless Xbox controller works out of the box, no need to start in big picture mode or anything.

The statement on the storefront "this game was not designed to be played with a controller" can safely be ignored.

Edit: I do get Xbox button prompts when the controller is turned on before starting the game.

So this game doesn't support DualSense Controller?

Ps4 and ps5 controllers working just fine. You just have to download a community layout in the steam control settings
