As for the French, they should play a big role in the upcoming Freedom Cry DLC, which is set in Saint-Domingue (Haiti).
Nassau was founded in 1656 by English settlers under the name "Charlestown" and renamed in 1689 in honor of King William III of House Orange-Nassau who also happened to be Stadtholder of the Dutch Republic. Sorry, no direct Dutch influence in Nassau.
But I agree that they could have integrated some Dutch (and French) ships.

Check out my mod on Nexus Mods: https://www.nexusmods.com/assassinscreedivblackflag/mods/263. I originally posted it here a few years ago as well.
And it's not VOC—the VOC operated exclusively in the East Indies. The WIC managed the West Indies.
I was deeply disappointed by the absence of the Dutch in *Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag*, so I set out on a journey to explore modding for the game. What started as a personal project soon became something I wanted to share with all of you—after all, it is always better when we help each other out!
