well im getting the standard for $10 so is the extra cosmetics and i beleive standalone 3+ hrs of gameplay worth an additional 50% of what im paying. this would sem to be the question im asking.

I have in the store the standard edition and the deluxe no gold, and they are worth $10 and $20. but I want to ask if I bought the standard + the season pass do I get all the DLC and including aveline DLC or Aveline DLC only available through deluxe edition?

Hey, Devs, if you read this THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH DLC!!!! How are we suppose to buy this game when we cant even figure out what stupid version is the game and what version is fluff and what version is half a game. Stop this DLC crap now.

I asked this same question a while ago on this fourm and I still dont know what to buy. I think I will just not buy anything.

I guess after all the searching and reading I ended up with the following:
Deluxe, exclusively, gives you aveline missions in addition to 3 extra islands, although not sure if they are exclusive to deluxe, but the deluxe edition for non US does not include a season pass> The aveline missions are a follow up to AC Liberation HD which is not included and you have to buy it as a standalone game.
The season pass gives you freedom cry and the kraken ship and other DLCs and multiplayer characters not including the aveline mission.
for the current sale I decided that I will buy the standard edition plus the Season pass, it doesn't make sense to pay double the amount and still need the season pass, which means you will only get an extra hour of play, surely not worth paying double

Get Gold if it is only $5 more because you get the season pass with Gold. You don't with the Deluxe. Gold has everything in Deluxe + the season pass

I agree. It is so confusing. How can be a company that 'stupid' ? :/

All of the descriptions are on the store page if you read it. What is the problem?

If you don't get the Gold (Deluxe for non-Americas) version, you will NEVER be able to play as Aveline and do her missions, no matter how much money you offer Ubisoft in the future.

Reason is that whatever version you buy on Steam is permanently and irrevocably locked to your Uplay account and there is no way to buy an upgrade to the Gold version.

There is no other way to get Aveline and her missions.

Of course, you can create a second Steam account AND a separate Uplay account, using a new email adress that's different from your current Steam + Uplay email addresses, and buy the Gold Edition and just pretend that you're a different person...

I actually contacted Ubisoft and offered them the full (at the time) Gold Edition price of $80 to upgrade me to the Gold Edition, and they said there was nothing they could do.

So yeah... get it now while it's dirt cheap. And enjoy it for me. :/

That is what I did the first time Gold Edition was on sale almost a year ago. Getting the Gold Edition on sale is the best deal for sure.

@BDO. Are saying that Ubisoft made a game, then sliced it up for DLC. Then prohibits you from buying the DLC to punish you for buying the "wrong version" in the first place?

Step 1: Make game, devide the game into confusing packages to insure no one person can play all the content, and people dont know what to buy to get the full game experience.
Step 2: ?
Step 3: Profit?

@LeadStarDude
You claim the descriptions are included on the store page, perhaps they are, and im sure they make sense for someone who has already played the game, but using the store page alone, could you tell me exactly what is included in "Liberation" "Fredom Cry" and the two "Time Savers". How are people to know what is real content and what is just crap shovel wear such as a 15$ hat?
