how to fix the 30 fps lock?
i tried running the game with/without in-game vsync. nothing
used d3doverrider with both tripple buffering and v sync on/off. nothing
ctrl-alt-delete out of the game and comeback. still nothing

i get 30 fps regardles if its on low or high (because very high gets me below 15 fps) is there any fix to that at all? or am i doomed to play at peasantry 30 fps?

I'd like to congratulate ubi$oft for once again, dissapointing a vivid fan of the franchise. Not only you murdered the storyline of these games, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the gameplay with copy and paste tactics, but you also showed that youre incapable of doing ANYTHING right. i hope ubisoft will finally go bankrupt so theyll stop torturing normal people with their games

If you want to unlock the fps cap just get D3D Overrider:

i used the d3doverrider. i used variations of tripple buffering, v sync, both at the same time, with nvidia control panel both off and on, alt ctrl del and nothing worked. im 30 fps on the very, very first mission in freedom cry. doesnt matter whether its ultra low or ultra high settings

OP, what type of Card are you using? And what refresh/resolution do you have it set to in game?

I turned off vysnc in the game and set it to adaptive full in control panel and I get a solid 60 with Nvida

oh haha obviously i forgot to put in my pc specs
gtx 660 2gb vram
amd fx 6350 6x 3.9-4.2 ghz
8 gb 1666mhz ram

even nvdia experience says i can run this game on ultra. but im telling you, theres no difference between putting everything on low or high (max setting) because it always jumps from 30 to 60 wherever i am

but thats NOTHING new. they always blame the players for their inability to make games

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fY5L95BOQTg everybody on pc knows that ubi$oft is not to be trusted.

this other time, the ceo stated that if pc players want to run jewbisoft games on ultra, they need beefy gpus. so essentialy if you want to run ac3 on very high (which is impossible no matter what pc youve got) you need a ultra-super-duper high end gpu. even though ac3 looks ♥♥♥♥

1. start the game and once inside the game

2. press ctrl+alt+delete and then hit the esc key

3. you will be at your desktop now so just take your mouse and click on the assassin's creed black flag icon that is on the taskbar so it goes back into the game. alt+tab back into he game works also BUT i have heard tripple buffering will not be enabled unless you use the simple click the icon method instead...

60 fps is now unlocked.

why does this work? i have no clue, but it won't keep dropping back down to 30 fps if you do this every time you start the game. and yes you have to do it every time yoiu restart the gane. but seriously, it only takes 3 seconds.

the lowest it goes for me is 45 fps but it almost never happens and i have everything turned up on max except physix which i have set to normal. it has only dropped to 45 fps like 2 oe 3 times in about 45 hours of gameplay. i average around 54-60 fps depending on the flora intensity in the game. and i stay locked at 60 fps if i turn off the soft shadows and turn on high (regular shadows).

so yeah just ctrl+alt+delete out of the game and mouse click the AC:BF icon back into the game to unlock 60 fps. weird but it works!

it fixed the fps lock for a lot of people, because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ forced the game into windowed fullscreen. so when you use that method to unlock, you force it fullscreen

wait... i guess i didn't read your first (and other) posts carefully enough the first time. i didn't see you put that fix in there. so ty and also sorry for repeating what you already posted, i didnlt see it.

best i can recommend (and you probably don't want to hear this but it might be the truth) is that you should start saving uo for a new rig. i'm running a OC'd 3930k and a titan black and it really pushes that card to the limit, when everything is on ultra. i don't think the game will run very good with a gtx660. and the new next gen gas coming out, running new game engines, will be even more demanding than black flag,

ps - don't get a titan black, it's damn good and is crazy fast, but the gtx980 is a much better buy IMO maybe just wait until the gta 1k or whatever then next cards after 980 are, get one of those.

my 2 cents.
