Non existing chests?

Is it just me, or are there chests marked now and then which just don't exist? I have been to two locations where chests were marked, but there just were no chests. I t wasn't that you had to dig for them either, because if that's the case you will see a message telling you to dig when stand upon the spot under which the chest is buried, and this wasn't the case in either of these two cases.

If I'm right that there are a few chests marked that don't exist, I'm in trouble because then I will not be able to gather all the chests and thereby complete the Gather All Chests challenge.

Can anyone enlighten me on how it is with these apparently non existent chests?

Did I buy the what? What does the time saver do? Does it have anything to do with this issue? - I only encountered it a few times, and one time it turned out to be a buried chest. It's been a while since it happened and I'm not keen about buying anymore stuff from Ubisoft if I can avoid it and have bought any DLC at all for Black Flag.

I'll look up what 'Time Saver' is. Thanks for mentioning it to me.

Yeah, I tried that very soon after the problem began. I don't recall it happening in Nassau, but it happened in the area before that and once in the start area.

just keep playing the game and it will all work out. If you've unlocked ship upgrades

Yes, I've realized some of the chests under water, for example, can only be reached once you have the diving bell.

I do free roaming between every mission if it includes a new area so I won't have to worry about going back for all the collectibles later. - I also wasn't sure if I could go back later, but apparently that it should be possible.

I've finally reached sequence 3 where the Fleet is unlocked, and man, that's fun! They've implemented some strategy game, not a bad idea (if you happen to like strategy gaming, and I do, at least some kinds). :)

Wait, you're only on sequence 3? wow, also, fun fact, your fleet can be accessed from your phone via the mobile app, however, ever since I hit 200,000, I stopped caring about making money

If you see a highlighted chest on the map but not where you are standing when by it it will tell you if it is above you or below you.....look for underground tunnels.
I strongly advise against the dlc mentioned, it is nothing more than paying for a cheat and it takes away the feeling you will get when you find them.

I wonder who did buy that DLC, im glad it didnt come in the gold pack, btw, if u sync, all the treasure chests in the radius are revealed, so then do u not sync first? You find the chests, then sync?

I always sync then place a marker on the chest I want and go for it....without placing a marker on it there is no way of telling us exactly where it is. I really don't see the reasoning behind that dlc now that you mention the syncing!!! LoL, very good point mate :)
