Editing textures?

I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to edit textures in the game, specifically those of Edward's outfits. I have no experience modding or anything, and I know that Ubisoft games are notoriously mod-unfriendly, but does anyone know where the textures are stored in the game's files and if there is a way to edit them?

If you must know, I'm trying to change the breeches (pants) on the Pirate Captain outfit to be the standard white-ish color rather than black. Just a personal preference. Better yet, I would love to change Edward's standard outfit into the colors of the Pirate Captain outfit so I don't have to dump 8,000 reales on it as soon as I hit the beach in Nassau...but that's a secondary goal.

So, has anyone done it/know how to do it? If so, I would appreciate any info/tips you can give.
