Resolution (resolved)
After finally get this game to work, playing it for awhile I just couldnt get into the game.
I think its because of my resolution. My screen is 1600 x 1200 which I think is a weird one, but it was lying around the house and I couldnt afford another so I kept it. I still cant afford a new screen.

The problem with the game is, when I set it to 1600 x 1200 in game the screen is very small, with the old; massive letterbox effect. I didnt think games did that anymore and would just scale it to you screens size. So my problem is either having it crussed at 1600 x 1200 or having any other lower resolution and stretching it out.

By any means I just cant get into the game because of this problem.
I have checked online and I either am looking for the wrong thing or am the only one to think of this but I am just wondering if I can trick a game into thinking I have a bigger resolution and then downsize it from there or make the game less stretch or squished.

In my opinion if there was a way to make the game think I had a 1920 x 1080 I could lower it to something like 1920 x 960 or something to fit it to my screen without it being scretched or squished, or atleast better graphics.

Thanks for reading this long winded explaination, please post if you have the same issue so I know I'm not alone. Any help would really, well... help!

the game is anamorphic 16:9 so you will get large black bars top and bottom on an 4:3 screen. widescreen as been the standard for about 10 years now.

I havent had this problem with any other game though. I know its standard I am just hoping there is a solution or something I can do to change the resolution.

not many other games are anamorphic but there are some. you cant really do anything about it as 16:9 is the only way its going to run so black bars is what you will have.

Alright well thanks anyway, I thought there would atleast be a way to trick the game into thinking I had a bigger monitor.

You can use Flawless Widescreen to get rid of the letterbox.

That looks great but will it support this game?

I'll try it, thanks.

Hazar, it was quick, easy and it worked! A little stretch but I can't complain, thanks man!

I was going to say it wasn't supported but would likely work, and you got it. It's satisfying when something works out. Game on.

It seems just 8 years ago there were more people here with at least double digit IQ.

I play on 3440x1440 and it's hilariously wide. Like less than a 1/3 of the screen in the middle. I'll have to live with the bars on the sides.

Edit: well it stretches it out. Hmmm This is a conundrum.
