Getting the Freedom Cry DLC

I was thinking about 100%ing Black Flag recently, but noticed several of the achievements were tied to the Freedom Cry DLC. Given how back and forth Steam has been with the DLC section for Black Flag, is there a way for me to get Freedom Cry without spending $60 just for a new edition of the game I already own?

there is just steam sale for it. and anymway u cant to 100 % on trophies. multiplayer server is online but u cant find a game there and even if find a match u need to get lvl 55

So I have to get the Gold Edition if I just want to access Freedom Cry from Black Flag?
