any way to add a custom shanty?

Id just love it if when I told my sailors to sing they would all erupt in "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea.." :D

Im guessing I would have to swap out a file or whatever? Is it possible or are they archived somehow?

eta: looking at the files I guess they would be in sound data .pck files any way to open and edit these?

there are about 2 dozen of shanty out there. collect them. you can always swap to the next one while sailing.
check options menu to bind a key for that.

btw i wouldnt recommend to mess with the game files.

I doubt there's any shanties that involve Spongebob though.

Also, altering these kinds of files is pretty safe, especially for Steam games. If something goes wrong, you can always just delete them, verify the integrity of the game cache and redownload the files without reinstalling.

Spongebob is what vulcan kids enjoy like junkfood, i know. everyone has its passions, nevermind.^^
maybe there will be a spongebob shanty for you in the next DLC.

again: messing with gamefiles is not recomendet. if Ultimacy has encouraged you to do so you can blame it at him if something is amiss later on.^^

I didn't ask for your opinion on editing game files, if i want to do it I will and if I ♥♥♥♥ something up I'm fine with reinstalling and would blame no one. Seriously you must not be much of a PC gamer if you are scared to edit files, never heard of custom huds, models, maps etc?

i dont care about your question anymore, and since its no "rocketscince" you should have succeed with your task by now anyways... ;)
however, there are games that strictly prohibit any file editing and could get you banned or else. good luck.

Its been 7 years and Im still wondering about this... no idea tbh wish any of the modders that are modding the game to add ships would add a custom sea shanty thing, i wanna add those scary shanties from pirates of the carribean, make my crew into a skeleton crew
