Uplay asks for Activation Code or CD Key on Assassin's Creed Black Flag

My friend bought me a copy of Assassin's Creed Black Flag and I downloaded it into my steam library. I open Asassin's Creed and Uplay asks me to sign up so I do in order to play. Then a window pops out that tells me to input an Activation Code or CD Key to play the game and I dont have any codes or whatever.

So when you select AC4 in Steam library, there is no CD KEY button on the right side of the screen?

Was this a gift to your steam account from your friend?

go to steam library > ac4 > right click > product code / cd key and put those codes on uplay

i'm not able to make it work for me! whenever i press play in the steam library it just tells me *failed to contact key server*. i dont know how to fix this. help please

Litsen, they have ran out of cd keys. We can't be sure they will be resuplied since the star wars battlefront II keys were never resuplied, i would say wait 14 days (the day before you can't refund it anymore) and if you haven't gotten your key, refund it.

He did, but now I'm aware that others are having the same problem in 2016 due to the game being on sale. Good to know.

I've got that problem too, but I come bearing a solution. It goes like this: YOu don't need a key to add as a non steam game you can just select at he bottom of steam in the left conrer add a non-steam game and you just link steam to the .exe file location.

guys i have same problem. i just bouht ac 4 black flag, when i want to play the game (ready to play) appear a notification that say "failed to contact the key server" . Can u guys help me ? thx

Right click assassins creed under play now it says CD key and click it and copy to clip borad then put it in the Cd thingy :D

The problem is I dont have access to my Uplay account and I cant play Assassin's creed which is on my steam ?? Its really stupid
