Stuck at 'Press any key'

So It looks like i dont have any crashing issue like everbody else is having. I can load in fine, but when I get into the logo and 'Press any Key' page, it becomes unresponsive. Ive uninstalled/Reinstalled, deleted the update patch file/Launch. still nothing. been at it for hours. Have any of you guys been able to come up with a solution for this?

I'm having this issue too. I started a new discussion, as I didn't see this one. Mine runs through the intro movie, but the mouse stays stuck to the top left of the screen at the "Press Any Key" screen. Did you figure out how to get it working?

Yeah I did actually, in the most asinine way. What I did was delete the DataPC_Patch.Forge file, start the game. Then close it, restarted my comp, then went into the properties in steam, and Validated the file back, and then it magically worked for me. So far I haven't had any issues with it. You want might want to restart your computer agian if it doesnt work validating the file back.

Hey, I just got the game and had the same problem. I deleted the DataPC_patch.forge file, started the game, closed it, and restarted my computer. How do you validate the file back? I couldn't find anything called properties.

In your Steam Library, go to, and right click on the game. At the very bottom itll say properties. Click on that. and This si were you verify the file back into the game. http://take.ms/VBpIC

File does not exist in my gamefiles. Every time I try and validate the gamefiles, it's redownloading 1 file. Any idea?

This worked for me as well. Just out of curiosity, how did you figure this out?

This is a one-time fix for me; the next time I started AC4 I got the unresponsive "press start" screen with the mouse stuck in the top left. I have to do this every time I start AC4.

That sucks man. Honestly I cant remember how I came up with that fix. Have you tried uninstalling/deleting the whole folder, and reinstalling aswell? it might have a corrupted file somewhere..
