In the question above I though I by chance had placed the marker at the exact spot of the coordinates mentioned ion the treasure map, that's why it was so frustrating not to be able to get to that location.
But just now, in Havana, I found another treasure map, also with coordinates, and the first place I placed the marker happened once again to be rght where the coordinates were at.
I found that a little suspicious, so I tried placing the marker at the opposite end of the island, and lo and behold, the coordinates were THE SAME. I then tried placing it randomly all over the Havana map and everywhere I placed it the coordinates where the same as I'd been given in the treasure map.
So I have to conclude that coordinates don't show you the exact location, they only tell you what island or general area it can be found in. To find it specifically though, you have to use the drawing and recognize the place from how well it resembles the spot of the treasure.
I remember quite a few of the maps having some details in common, so it'll probably be something of a trial and error search, but at least I have the cooordinates pointing me to the area, and a drawing to give me some kind of idea about what it looks like at the spot where the treasaure is buried.
As for the first island treasure, I may already have found it. The drawing certainly looks suspiciously much like a certain cave I found with a chest that wasn't marked on the map.
If anybody have something to add that I still don't know, you're welcome to do so, otherwise I'll just consider the "mystery" solved.
So long, and have fun, everybody.
I'll have to go back there sometime. - There are 24 buried treasure chests in all, and you find all the treasure maps on dead bodies (so that's another thing that tells you if what you have is a treasure map of this category or if it's something else). I have now found (dug up) the first of the 24... I don't know if they're all chests, but this one is. I'll just have to wait and see as I find the others.
After all, I've played the game before - or rather, half of it, something like that - twice; the only reason why I never completed it was that during my first playthrough some game file became corrupted and I had to reinstall, and the second time my computer's graphics card broke down (couldn't hold up with The Witcher III in spite of filling the minimum requirements) so I had to buy a new computer (buying just a new graphics card would've ended up being as expensive as getting a new computer), and at any rate, getting a new computer was a wise decision, now I have something that can play most of the next gen stuff that will be released in this and the next year to come.
I'll just get back to the island sometime - don't remember where it is located, but the coordinates can help with that. Once I'm there it'll be easy and I can continue on my way - or stay and see if I can down some of the gibbons or get a mountain lion; you need these for some of the upgrades and they're very difficult both to find and to down, at least with conventional weapons. So I'll wait until I have one of these mouthpieces you use to blow poisonous darts.
