As mentioned above, you still require Ubisoft Connect to play, but you can also set that to Offline mode in the Settings for that client.

As mentioned it can cause some issues, but it is possible to close it out, it shouldn't stop the game running.

I don't care about online items or multiplayer or anything, I literally just want the game to launch... at all. How can I play without it ?
Let me play the game ffs. Steam doesnt even show me the game key anymore so i cant activate it on ubisoft connect.
Please let me know how to solve this @ubibaron,
You can't I was looking at this earlier today, because I don't have my old email so I can't play any of my Ubisoft games, someone is probably working on a mod to completely bypass it, but ubisoft (lowercase cuz I don't respect them) is run by grifters and con artists, and they've made some bizzare malfunctional launcher, and they're making you make an account so they can force you to give them your data to sell to advertisers so you can be spammed with annoying and worthless emails that you'll never open. The entire company is E-Waste as far as I'm concerned.
Sorry to hear it Ubisoft Connect does not meet your expectations.
Simply put, no, there is no way to bypass Ubisoft Connect to launch Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag and in most of our games purchased on Steam.
Make sure Ubisoft Connect is updated and downloaded from its official website - Download Ubisoft Connect.[ubi.li]
Install Ubisoft Connect on the system C drive and launch it as administrator.
Right click it: and select Run as Administrator.
You can always launch Ubisoft Connect first and launch the game from there. It will open your Steam automatically.
