Game not launching/running

I already tried running as admin but it didnt work for me. Does anyone have the same issue? I tried to locate the problem and it said AC4BFSP.exe application error. Does anyone know how to fix this or maybe i should just give up and ask for refund instead?

Had tons of issues with this. My fix was to enable steam controller input.

I tried enabling it but still wouldnt work. Probably the whole issue is on the exe file not being able to run properly

Finally solved the problem of not being able to open the game. You only need to do one thing: search for c++ in Uninstall or remove apps and programs in Windows, uninstall all Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, and then go online to a Microsoft website to download the files from 2005 to 2022. Download all Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables including x64 and x86, and then reinstall each one in year order from 2005 2008 2010 2012 2013 to 2015-2022, and then restart the computer. OK, that's all it takes to start the game successfully. In addition, regarding the problem of game lagging, I set msconfig-->Boot-->Advanced-->number of processors in the Windows system to 6, and then restarted the computer, so that I could smoothly play with 4K resolution. Playing around, it seems that there are no lags for the time being.

Hey I had this problem for a while, just fixed it with a little experimentation. Open the properties for Black Flag on Ubisoft Connect (yes even if you bought it on Steam), find the launch options and add exactly -offline to it, then click save. You must click save just under the box to enter it or it obviously won't apply. You should then be able to start the game, enter your Ubisoft password and the game will launch, that is if you are being asked for a password. If you aren't being asked for a password try going to the ""SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag\Support\Software" Folder and installing everything in there first.

Its sooo effing annoying...i played all games up to AC3...just to not being able to play Black Flag...wth is wrong with this game? Every solution i found on the internet is not working for my system. Im so mad. 2 months of Assassins Creed marathon jsut to stop here.

I got it to work, but some people wont like the way i did it. You need to launch it "outside" of steam. Thats it. They want it that way.

I got it to run by installing it on the c: drive.

i had an error related with "D3DCOMPILER_43.dll" everytime i tried to run "AC4BFSP.exe" for some reason i was missing that file, had to download it from the windows website, look for it as "DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer", Good luck guys.

I had a problem when I understood Assassins Creed Unity and when I wanted to play Black Flag again, now it doesn't let me. Does anyone else have that error, apart from the fact that it doesn't run on Steam.

Please try running in Compatibility Mode for Windows 7, worked for me brothers :)

I downloaded from ubisoft connect and added the exe file to steam library thn I did enable steam controller. This is how it works for me.

This ♥♥♥♥ has got me depressed trying to get this absolute classic working. Want to play it now that it has achievements so bad but no solution has worked thus far
