Remove the FPS cap
I don want v-sync, so I turned it off, but my FPS is still capped at 60 no matter what settings.

Is there a way to remove this cap?

Is it enabled on your video card maybe? Check the video card control panel.

I disabled it too :(

That's weird. Only thing I can think of is a limiter on an app like MSI AfterBurner or something similar.

Mine is limited to 62.5fps...MSI Afterburner/Rivatuner is at 200 and other games stop there. No vsync, no FPS caps other than what I mentioned.

I haven't heard of a way to remove it. I haven't had a need to though, so no research has been done on my part.

why would you want it to go over 60? you wont see a difference.

People you can't remove the fps cap it goes to 62-3 max whatever you do, end of story. I know it sucks but it's ubi's work so what can you do.

on 120Hz you can see the difference, atleast if you are used to higher you will notice the downgrade. i don't ever want to get used you to 120Hz unless i'm rich as ♥♥♥♥ and can afford the hardware to support it :D

But you can feel the input lag when its capped. I hate having my FPS capped. I want to have smooth responsive controls. And yes, you can see the difference and you can feel it as well.

62 to 63 fps is all I have ever been able to get. I normally just leave v-sync on & keep it at 60fps on my 60Hz monitor. Plays great like that. I see no reason to worry about getting more than 60fps anyway. Game plays extremely smooth at 60fps.

For you maybe but not for me. I always have v-sync off. Like I said I hate the input lag.

I hate the screen tearing with v-sync off, & there is no input lag at 60fps unless you are having some other issue with you rig like a gamepad or KB&M driver isssue. Also using the wrong dpi settings can cause input lag on the mouse. Most likely you are overlooking an issue in your own system & it has nothing to do with the game itself.

Is that why I only feel input lag on AC4 and no other game?

I have had a dpi setting screw up one of my games before (AoE II HD). I don't know if this game has the same issue or not because I have always used a controller for this game. It is still worth checking out. I have no idea what the proper dpi is for this game. I am sure google knows. That is how I fixed it on AoE II HD.

Of course that may not be the problem at all, but it is at least worth checking out. ;)

people who tell me there is no difference past 60fps is because they have 60hz monitors..

have a gsync monitor and dont want vsync on, also agree can see difference, I said for a long time surely there isn't much difference over 60fps.. that was until I bought this monitor a few months back (asus rog swift 144hz gsync) and yes.. it is noticable, admittedly more so in fps games

sorry for thread necro, was first result i got when i googled disable fps cap black flag.. gutted to learn im stuck with this.
