Already own Assassin’s Creed® IV Black Flag™ and want to play the Freedom Cry missions? Check out Assassin’s Creed® IV Black Flag™ – Freedom Cry the DLC pack.
Please note that if you already own Assassin’s Creed® IV Black Flag™ Gold Edition or Assassin’s Creed® IV Black Flag™ Season Pass, the Freedom Cry missions are already included in your game.

can you explain this text above?
What part of this "Notice: Assassin’s Creed® IV Black Flag™ - Season Pass is no longer available on the Steam store." you didn't grasp when reading my 1st post's link?
Ergo, you cannot acquire the Freedom Cry DLC upon Steam anymore. Although it can be acquired through getting Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - "Gold Edition" through Ubi$oft's[store.ubisoft.com] store because that Season Pass contains it[www.ubisoft.com].
The rest of your post is basically you complicating things, like for ex. mixing garlic and onions, or else it should be rather simple to understand from the 1st glance.

they sell the gold edition with the included season pass listed as the items of gold edition.
Or is it that just the season pass isn't available on steam only if you want to purchase it alone?
That was exactly my point all along. To display Ubi$oft's distinctive and demeaning behaviour towards Steam has been rising through years and two clear proofs of that is that both Assassin's Creed: Mirage (AC:M) nor Assassin's Creed: Shadows (AC: Shadows) are on sale upon Steam despite being on sale upon the Epic Games Store (EGS).
See now where I was coming from all along? Ubi$oft's clearly trying to part ways from Steam but since that has brought them some backlash that's why they're trying to cover it up by for ex. only rather recently bringing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora which also initially wasn't being sold upon Steam while it was upon other platforms such as EGS.
Yes, it may seem weird but that was my point all along. Ubi$oft's 2 scales and distinct behavioural patterns, being the later clearly towards trying to cut their relationship with Steam to force players/customers to buy mainly directly from Ubi' Con[ubisoftconnect.com] (pun clearly intended) or other platforms such as EGS.
They removed the dlcs from sale last year or prior.
And I didn't said it was, that was your own assumption. Period.
Freedom Cry has 2 versions: the DLC for AC4 Black Flag (that you get buying the Gold Edition on Steam) and you play by launching AC4BF.
And the standalone game that does not require AC4BF.
Both have the same content, iirc.
So I can confirm it does include it.
You just load it from assassins creed black flag not a separate game you click it in black flags title screen
