AC IV Black Falg mutiplayer won't go online since april 2023 (solved since update 20.6.23)

Hello dear AC fans

on february this year i was several times playing AC IV multiplayer without any issues. i was happy to read end of 2022, that ubisoft is still not turning off the online servers for black flag multiplayer. AC IV is still not showing on this list https://www.ubisoft.com/en-gb/help/article/multiplayer-and-online-services-availability-in-ubisoft-games/000064576, and also not that they have any plans to turn the online servers off for AC IV.

Starting may this years, i wanted to come back to play some rounds and the multiplayer stays all the time on the restriced mode and on that mode you can not invite any friends at least to a private lobby.

Back in Fabruary 2023 i even set the ports on my router for AC IV, like it's written on ubisofts artike on https://www.ubisoft.com/en-ca/help/assassins-creed-iv-black-flag/connectivity-and-performance/article/forwarding-ports-for-assassins-creed-4-black-flag/000100942, becasue i wanted to make shure to have open NAT type in the game. back then i palyed many matches without any problem.

Can you guys please test it out, who also have interest to play mutliplayer and check if it's working for you and send me here an feedback? Could you please report the issue to the ubi support like i did? here is the link https://www.ubisoft.com/en-gb/help to increase the chance that they fix this soon.

ac multiplayer is one the best multiplayer experience ubisoft did
i literally bought black flag only to play multiplayer i didn't do a single mission of the campagin lol

Yeah, mine works but I kind of had to brute force it by continuing to say "go online" from the main menu and eventually it worked

Initially can you first try the steps shared below to see if after performing these steps resolves your issue

While we are still looking into the root problem, some players have reported that disabling IPv6 (if that is enabled with your router), has temporarily resolved this issue.

These general steps should give you a good start:

1. Right-click the network icon in the bottom right corner of your desktop, and click "Open Network and Internet Settings"
2. In the middle of the window that appears, click "Change Adapter Options"
3. Next, right click on the network adapter you are looking to change and then select Properties.
4. Now, uncheck the box for Internet Protocol Version (TCP/IPv6) and then click OK.

If you need further assistance with disabling IPv6, please contact your internet service provider.

You may also try the following:

Run the Windows System File Checker which finds and repairs issues with some core Windows files. After running SFC your Windows should update properly again.

Microsoft has a guide for this here:

You will only need to complete steps 1-4.


This message means that Ubisoft Connect PC is unable to connect to the service.

Please check our social media channels (Facebook and Twitter) or news banners before beginning any troubleshooting steps. There may be an ongoing degradation of online services that is causing this issue.

To try and resolve the issue:

• Ensure you are using the most recent version of Ubisoft Connect PC.
• Check for any connectivity issues.
• Disabling IPv6 can assist with the application connecting to the service easier by shortening the time it takes to lookup the DNS.
• Disable the proxy server in Windows:

1. Open the Windows Start menu and choose Settings.
2. Select Network & Internet and choose Proxy from the side menu.
3. Locate Use a proxy server and toggle it Off.

i already was expecting that it won't work, as i also worked in support for a game devloper too before. I mean, on february it was working perefctly with IPv6 and proxy on, why it should suddenly stop to work, makes no sence. The issuse is obviusly on their end as i can play division raimbow and ghost raccon wildlands without any issues.

maybe you are able to go online because you are on USA servers, but i'm in europe and of course i will be conected to europe ones. brute force don't help too, came also to that idea and tried this several times past month.

yeeeaahhh i just checked europe land surface area is 10.530.000 km² and USA have 9.834.000 km², but on europe have just 2 servers and in USA you have 4 in total. we are neraly doubble more of people over here in Europe, with current population of 748,963,024 as of Sunday, June 4, 2023, based on the latest United Nations estimates. how we can keeep have just 2 server locations for so many people?!?!? What a disgrace from ubisoft

they discount it in steam, but really rarely. i buyed the game here on steam also on discount, but i had do wait century till finally it was 50%

you shure it's working and is not just on limlited mode? you get following message and the multriplayer main menu and stays on a red background if it's on limited mode. if you are realy online the multiplayer menu chanches to caribbean green color. Also on limited mode you can just play the wolfspack in PvE aganst A.I or the training tourials and not aginst players and you can not invite friends wo play wolfspack with you too. check this screenshots to see how limited mode looks:

Great Idea to start a petition. I also ask everyone that reads this post to please sign the pestition too, to save this multiplayer that we love to play.
