Game will not laod
So, I have had this game for over three years and for the last almost year or so I have been trying on and off to get the game to load. I cannot. I love this game and currently the only way I can play it is on my Nintendo switch which not preferable to my PC. I have 22 hours in this game for when it did work and probably about an hour or two of just launching and attempting to play, all without success since this issue arrived.

I have tried almost every guide I have come across, including but not limited to, verifying the integrity, didn't work. Uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, didn't work. Launching it in administrator mode, didn't work. I even tried to follow this guide:

"SOLUTION

1. Right click on Assassins Creed IV Black Flag and select properties.
2. Go to the tab Local Files then click Verify Integrity of Game Cache…
3. Once this is completed on the same tab click Browse local files…
4. This should now open a folder with all the games files
5. Scroll down until you find AC4BFSP
6. Right click on the file and select troubleshoot compatibility
7. A new pop up will appear click try recommended settings
8. It will then confirm that settings have been applied; Stating
Settings Applied:
Windows compatibility mode: Windows xp (Service Pack 2)
9. You can now click the Start the program… button that is on that interface to see if the game works
10. You may have to allow the program to make changes to the computer click yes
11. The game should now launch"

This also did not work because every time I got up to step 6, the pop up was always "an error has occurred"

I tried bypassing this by jumping straight into the properties compatibility settings and manually selecting the Windows xp comparability, and that didn't work either. I have also tried multiple guides about how to fix that error issue which none of them solved.

All I want is to play this game and I just can't. If anyone is able to help and they see something I am not and I'm just limited in my understanding about how any of this works, please let me know. I know I am not the best when it comes to this and I am just frustrated at this point.

The best advice I can give thus far is to head into Ubi$oft's support[support.ubi.com] and place a ticket there. No matter that you've acquired this through Steam or are expecting help from us over here, because with the info' you've given us, it almost seems that you've got your game locked for some other reason apart the regular download and starting it from Steam. So, my best advice is trying to solve it out with whom your game actually was acquired from.
