Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry CD Key

I bought AC Freedom Cry on steam sale a few days ago. When i try to activate it it says: This CD Key or Activation Code is not valid. Please try again. i have tried to activate it on both steam and Uplay/Ubisoft Connect, the same comes up. I have not bought season pass could that be it? Many thanks for answers.

Did you purchase the Gold Edition?? It should automatically comes with the Season Pass and Freedom Cry. Freedom Cry can only be accessed within the Black Flag game; it wouldn't pop up in your library as a standalone game.

I have the same problem, but it’s literally called “freedom cry - standalone game” so I don’t think that’s accurate.
