Which DLC is worth it?

I'm confused about the game, there are several editions and lots of DLC.

Which DLC should I buy to get a complete experience?

I don't care about multiplayer at all.

I'm pretty sure the digital gold edition (which is on sale right now for like $20) includes all DLC except the time saver ones, which don't give you any new content such as outfits and instead make life easier.

You're welcome :) Again if i were you id get the gold edition. If not, ive heard from my friends who know quite a bit about this game that the two most worth it DLCs are either the Freedom Cry DLC or the Illustrious Pirates DLC. They said Freedom Cry is better if you want more storyline but if youre more into new outfits and weapons, the Illustrious Pirates DLC lets you get that in a new island (the Captain Morgan outfits comes with this and looks amazing).
Anyways this is just from what i've heard from friends who've played it since I only got this game yesterday.

There is certain DLC called "Time Saver" DLC which doesn't add new content but instead makes certain aspects of the game less tedious for example it might reveal the location of collectibles. Probably not something you need but it just makes things i little more convenient.

Can you deselect certain dlc working in game (as in via menu) if you get Gold Deluxe edition?

Also : (Also, is there a mod that removes sharks? :S )

You could probably just uncheck it in the DLC list in your steam library before installing so it wont install.

does the Illustrious pirates come with the season pass dlc? i know that freedom cry does but idk what else it has.
