Is it just me? Or is checkers rigged?
For some reason I find that checkers is either dumbed down, or rigged for you to lose. Sometimes it forces me into a doing a move that I don't want to do even though there are many different options that are way more benificial for me to do. I thought I knew how the board game worked but they force me to do moves I don't want to do? I'm very, very confused.

How is the game forcing you to do moves? I have played checkers in this game and never seen such thing as forced move. It may be a dumb question, but have you tried switching between the checkers? Maybe you don't know that you can switch between them.

What do you mean switch? Are you talking about when they get to the other side and can go both ways?

I mean choose which checker do you want to move

Yes, I know I can move the checker pieces.

Then how does it force you to do a move if you can move the pieces? If you can't choose which one you want to move, then you can't move the other ones, very simple.

Sometimes, it forces me to attack when I do not want to and that is what I am talking about. Play Checkers for awhile and you'll see what I mean.

But if it forces you to attack, can you switch to another piece and do the move or it forces you to attack without any other options?

Forces to attack without any other options even when there are plenty.

I've never seen that to be honest, maybe you just don't know when you can do the move and when you can't?

If that's the case then the rules of that game aren't simple at all.

If you can capture a piece, you must. Every formal version of checkers uses some version of this rule.

In checkers you are forced to capture a piece if you can. It the normal rule and part of the strategical aspect of the game is to learn how to use that to force your opponent into a bad move.

Good to know. Thanks for clearing that up.

I always hit the corner right off the bat in the game and real life also in the words of Chris Farley in the movie Black Sheep after David Spades character says hes never won three times in a row in checkers before this is great I hardly ever play checkers. Chris Farley says to him " yeah yeah yeah, well, you know its kinda easy to when you NEVER MOVE YOU'RE BACK ROW! GOD COMMON MAN! so try not to move you're back row till the last possible moment :steammocking:

Edit: my comment is regarding Nine Men's Morris, not checkers.

It's broken. The opponent can create a setup so all they need to do is repeatedly move the same one piece in and out of a pattern of 3, moving it to the side on one turn, then moving it back into the row of 3 the next turn, and take one of your pieces each other turn. But I can't do the same to the opponent. If I move one of my pieces out of the row of the three one turn, and have the space to move it back into the row of 3 the next turn, the game doesn't let me move it back into the row of 3.

So, the AI script cheats.
