British vs Spanish ships.

I notice that if the British ships are fighting the Spanish ships the side I help will not attack. Does this have any effect in the overall game? If I consistantly help one side over the other will it change anything in the long term?

No it doesn't. Nothing that small changes the game long term. Wouldn't make sense if it did, considering the game is literally just reviewing memories. You can't change what happens in a memory.

A lot of things are left open ended. The fact a player can choose what ships they attack shows that not every aspect of his memories have to be exactly the same for every player. Even your fleet is customizable. Taking over forts effect the sea battles by making enemy territories now friendly. So, having the British fleet or Spanish fleet favor Kenway's ship wouldn't be that big of a stretch.
