Pirate ranking?

Often I see a notification on bottom right of my screen saying about my pirate ranking so I have a few questions,
1. What is pirate ranking?
2. How does it measure my rank?
3. From where can I see my rank on my own free will?
If anyone knows the answers, kindly enlighten me. Thank you

Why not though? I'm interested since I want to purchase the game for its MP mode.

I will. The reason I got black flag on steam was for multiplayer. And the first thing I tried was mp, but here is the thing. The matchmaking isn't good. As I started with level 1 and 0 mp experience, I got matched up against level 30/50+ level players and it was certainly not fun. So I just focused on the story again and thought of trying the mp later. Wasn't a bad choice as the game's story is just pure gold.

If you open Menu -> Database -> Leaderboards, you can find your ranks in game.

It should be fun once you get the hang of it. It is well decorated and has lots of customization options and all that but before getting the hang of it you will get stabbed from here and there and the animations are so brutal it might make you upset. And finding a game can take time too as not many people play mp.

Wait wtf ? Everyday it has more than +1K people, right now there are 1251 players online. Are they all playing singleplayer or what...
