How do the quick time events work?

I'm using the 360 controller.

I don't understand these quick time events. So far I've never succeeded in avoiding death.

Okay, so I'm about to die... the game slows down and a circle appears onscreen. I have to position the cursor inside of the circle. If I succeed in doing so, one of the 360 controller face buttons appears.

What do I do next:

1) tap the face button just once
2) mash the face button like crazy
3) keep the face button depressed

What could I possibly be doing wrong?

depends, orcs give you the circle monsters in last chance instead require button mashing at least when using K&M

ill also point out that the last chance mechanic is piss easy with K&M as there is not controller emluation like there is in other games such as watch dogs

you are suppose to click that button once (After you put the cursor inside the circle) BUT only that button - clicking any other button would result in death

Last Chance Mode Steps:

1.) Move the icon inside the white ring.

2.) When the icon changes to a button, press the button shown.

*Note*
If you have unlocked 'Last Chance Finisher' the white ring will have a blue dot in the center. If you get the icon to the blue dot before pressing the button you will kill your opponent. (May not kill captains or better.)

Is there any way to make this process easier, or to slow it down - because I seem completely unable to get this right.

I've seen this QTE at least two dozen times now... and I've never succeeded once.

if you are using a controller, swap to K&M as its way way way way easier using K&M

Never thought I'd see the day when QTEs are too difficult for people. We should just make it automatic so you're not forced to press a button.

The problem here is, it's easy on a M&K, but if you are using a controller it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard as hell. and strangely, Aim sensitivity affects the speed the QTE cursor item can be moved too.

This is unfair, as I am not particularly good at Shooters, and prefer to slow down my Aim Sensitivity to get better careful aim results when using my bow, but this unfortunately also makes it even harder to win the QTEs for last chance saves.

And that is frankly unfair.

If I speed up the Aim Sensitivity so I can have a decent chance at the Last Chance QTEs, I then basically can't effectively aim my bow with right thumbstick at all.. I just have to hope for being vaguely at head hight and go side to side movement with my left thumbstick to hit anything.

Anyone else notice this dichotomy?

Are you using the 360 controller?

The damned face button prompt appears onscreen for about a half a second. You have four buttons to choose from. Unless you have fast reflexes, and know your buttons intimately, it's super bloody difficult.

You're making it out like this big button logo appears onscreen, and stays there for about fifteen minutes, and all the person has to do is press that button.

Was this ever addressed? I'm considering getting the GotY upgrade in the sale, but curious if the QTEs on gmaepad speed being affected by aim sensitivity was still there.
