Female Character?
Is there any option to play as a female character? Or are you locked into whoever the main character in all the screenshots appears to be?

You can only play as Talion, the male MC. LoTR is pretty historically very male dominated in terms of its adventurer type characters.

Knowing how the game industry is now, I wouldn't be surprised to see a female DLC skin.

Perhaps in the future since there will be different skins coming up (thought I do not know when). Of course if female skin is released voice work probably won't be changed nor will cutscenes (which are pre-rendered).

I doubt we will see official female skin, this would require new voices and game mechanics changes (like animations cutscenes etc.)

There are no female warriors in Tolkien's universe
(except Eowin who's not even a warrior, just was at the right place in the right time).

This is not about skins. We only have one main character. No one asks to have a male skin in Tomb Raider, do they? You will not get a female character or any other male character in Mordor. End of story. I hope this won't become an issue especially since feminism is on the rise, in games especially.

The ShieldMaiden of Rohan is a female warrior man. The Elves had female warriors.

I'm just sick of playing as men, really. And I have so many games in my backlog, I wanted to see if this had any playable women in it, or I wouldn't bother adding to my moutain of things to play - that I will get around to some day, I swear! Damn Steam sales...

I have that. Was enjoying it. Don't remember why I stopped... I think I went back to playing The Old Republic and Dota and those drain my life away like no one's buisness.

Play Kingdoms of Amalur
Or Skyrim. Or Dark Souls. Or Dragon Age 3 in November.

Skyrim got boring pretty quick for me. It was ok, but it felt like a less impressive Morowind. Dark Souls was alright, but the difficulty was more tedious to learn than fun for me.
