Humans Add Even More Firepower!

In addition to giving ships another bullet upon pickup, humans now also halve the time it takes to prepare a charge shot. Each human picked up halves the preparation time again. All humans are lost upon death, however, may be picked up again on your next life, assuming they haven't been destroyed in the meantime.

Hi folks, have you considered balancing this game to follow the rough balance of the subspace continuum mod, trench wars? Some context, for the uninitiated: Subspace was a 90s era multiplayer online shooter, similar to this game. Trench wars was the team fortress esque mod that took over the shooter. Since that mod was time tested as balanced and interesting, it might be worth exploring what design choices were made in it to get things to feel competitive vs the base game. We have an update to share with you all:

The Cosmobuster now has the capability to explode stalactites! When struck by the Cosmobuster, a stalactite will break apart into shards of varying sizes and quantities, dispersing in an area-of-effect manner from the point of impact.

Strategically use this feature to your advantage by cosmobusting stalactites when enemies are nearby for a chance to eliminate them with the falling debris!

The COSMOLYMPICS Returns at the 2024 Midwest Gaming Classic!

No, you're not dreaming: The Cosmotrons COSMOLYMPICS is returning at the Midwest Gaming Classic this year, the Midwest's biggest gaming convention! Who will be 2024's Cosmolympian? Block off your calendars and visit the Midwest Gaming Classic April 5-7 to compete in one of the hottest played multiplayer arcade games! The LeatherBeard team will be in full attendance to meet and play with all players, new or experienced. We will have game news, Cosmotrons merch and, of course, prizes for the reigning cosmonaut, then to be named COSMOLYMPIAN.

Qualifying Begins on Saturday, March 6, at 2:00 p.m.
COSMOLYMPIAN Finals are Saturday, March 6, at 4:30 p.m.
The COSMOLYMPIAN Finals will be played on the main game stage!

Are you ready for Cosmotrons's online steam release, with online multiplayer later this year!?

UPDATE April 10, 2024:

Fun was had by all at the Midwest Gaming Classic. The COSMOLYMPICS received great interest and we had lots of players participate in the qualifiers. In the end, the finalists were Steve, Ryan, Kyle and Mike. The final games were played in front of an excited audience on MGC's Game Stage. In the end, Mike Gebhard left the stage as the reigning cosmonaut, receiving the coveted COSMOLYMPIAN trophy and earning the title of 2024's COSMOLYMPIAN! 🏆Congrats Mike! 🏆

We would never have been able to participate in MGC if it wasn't for our supporters and fans. The LeatherBeard team would like to specially thank Ana Villalobos and Karl Gebhard for their work on the CosmoBars, pictures, booth attendance, dedication and time into this project. We can't thank you enough. The LB team would also like to thank everybody who took the time to play Cosmotrons and wishlist it on Steam.🚀

Lastly, a big thanks to Dan Loosen and his staff for another great MGC. All your time and hard work putting MGC together is always worth it. Can't wait for next year!

12/2/23 Club Underground Cosmotrons Tournament

A special thanks to Tim for hosting another Cosmotrons Tournament at Club Underground! Club Underground has, among other things, an arcade version of Cosmotrons and runs Cosmotrons tournaments roughly once a month in Southeast Wisconsin.
